Has anybody here had experience putting solar panels on their home? I'm in the process of getting estimates from vendors. So far, I've talked to Clean Power Systems and Borrego Solar, and I'm planning to talk to Akeena. Does anybody have any experience with any of these companies?

Hi, I head up the solar sales division of Baker Electric. We're a large regional electrical contractor, based in Escondido, in business for 70 years. Our solar division has extensive experience installing residential solar electric systems (over 700 residential installations)and did all of the electrical on 3 of the planned communities in SEH (Cedar Crossing, Morgan's Corner, and Saverne). We're 12 minutes down Elfin Forest Road from SEH and are very interested in finding a customer in the community that would like to go solar, receive a huge discount, and serve as an advocate for wide spread solar adoption in SEH.

I'm a 6 year resident of Sagewood and would love to discuss this opportunity with you. Please contact me at jgilmore@bakerelectricsolar.com - I look forward to speaking with you!

John

I ended up going with Borrego Solar, in part because they were the only company at the time offering the Enphase micro-inverters. Partway through the process their residential division was sold to GroSolar, but the installation continued without a hitch. I'm very happy with my system.

Well... sorry to hear we missed the opportunity! However, if there are any others reading this thread that would like to explore the idea of becoming a solar advocate in the neighborhood in exchange for a tremendous price on a state-of-the-art solar electric system, please get in touch: jgilmore@bakerelectricsolar.com.
